Harnessing the Magic of the Moon: An Honest Review of Sarah Faith's Moon Book

With her recent guidebook, The Moon Book, author Sarah Faith Gottesdiener provides a path to harnessing the moon’s enchanting energies. Blending science, magic, and mysticism, this lunar primer unravels the moon’s mythic wisdom, cycle of phases, and impact on our planet and lives.

Exploring astrological insights alongside pagan traditions, Gottesdiener illuminates the potent power accessible through intentional moon-phase living. Rituals, meditations, and acts of self-care are suggested for new moons, full moons, and intervals between to manifest goals and dreams.

From career boosts to health improvements to unlocking creativity, The Moon Book outlines timing intentions and magic by lunar phase for optimal outcomes. Instructions for moon gardens, tarot readings, crystal charging, and home blessings by moonlight offer spiritual enrichment.

While dispelling lunar folklore fallacies, the book provides verified details on the moon’s sway over tides, crops, and human behavior. But at its core, The Moon Book is a guide to connecting with the moon as a divine feminine source of personal growth and mystical awareness.

Through accessible, inclusive coaching, Gottesdiener leads readers to tap their inner magic by living attuned to the moon’s celestial dance in the sky. Harnessing this ethereal light as our ancestors once did can illuminate life’s path.

An honest review of Sarah Faith Gottesdiener's The Moon Book: Lunar Magic to Change Your Life

Ok, I adore this book. It’s extremely well-designed and has a sophisticated, modern look that other lunar magic books lack. In fact, I’ve kept it by my bedside for the past month because I enjoy rifling through it so much. As for the actual content, it too shines with Faith-Gottesdiener’s simple and engaging prose. The artist and teacher is able to easily present more complex topics in bite-sized and easily digestible pieces.

I particularly like that the book is broken up into easily skimmable sections. After some historical background and general lunar info, Faith-Gottesdiener divides each lunar phase into two sections: a general overview of the best things to strive for during this time (e.g., planting seeds of intention during a New Moon) and the magic of that phase, including effective spells and tarot readings.

The only critique of this book is that the writing style feels a bit rushed. While I appreciate the writer’s ability to simply explain these concepts, her overuse of very short sentences, one right after the other, creates an almost hurried vibe. That said, I don’t particularly mind it since I plan on using it as a reference book and will skip around to sections.

Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone starting out on their lunar magic path. It’s incredibly informative and works great as a reference book to keep handy. So, it's definitely worth the slightly hefty price tag.
